Standard Chartered customers may have to pay the following fees as they use their credit card. Many of these fees can be avoided with careful planning and spending.
Annual Fee
The annual fee for Standard Chartered credit cards ranges from HK$250 to HK$6,000. The Standard Chartered Asia Miles Mastercard, for example, has an annual fee of HK$2,000. This fee can be waived if customers meet certain conditions (e.g. meet an aggregate transaction amount on their credit card).
Late Charge
A late charge will be applied to credit cardholders who don’t make their credit card payments by the due date. The late charge is either 5% of the outstanding balance or the minimum payment due (whichever is lower).
Overlimit Charge
An overlimit charge occurs when the credit card balance goes over the credit limit amount. Standard Chartered cardholders will be charged HK$180 per statement cycle.
