Data security incident
Last updated 3 Nov 2026, 10:00 SGT. We will update this page as our investigation continues.
On 29th October, MoneySmart discovered that an unauthorised third party had accessed some of our internal IT systems. Our investigation has confirmed that personal data belonging to some of our customers in Singapore and Hong Kong was copied.
I am deeply sorry to everyone affected. Customers trust us with information about their financial lives, and we take that responsibility very seriously.
As soon as we discovered the incident, we stopped the unauthorised access and took steps to secure our systems. We reported the incident to the relevant authorities and engaged independent cybersecurity and forensics experts to investigate further. We are contacting affected customers directly to explain what data was involved and the steps they can take to protect themselves.
MoneySmart continues to operate as normal, and we are committed to supporting our customers.
Customers can find links to dedicated pages outlining more information, support and recommended actions to take, as well as the contact details for our customer service teams, in the boxes below.
We are reviewing everything that led to this incident and making the changes needed to prevent it from happening again.
