Passport Renewal - Processing Time
Upon application, it usually takes 5 days for Immigration Department to process your passport renewal application. It will usually take another 2-3 days to process if you do not apply in person. When your application is approved, the Immigration Department will let you know when and where to collect your passport.

How do I renew my HKSAR passport?
- You can renew your HKSAR passport at kiosk, online, by post or in person.
If my passport is about to expire, what should I do with my pre-booked air ticket?
- You can still renew your passport and in most cases, you are allowed to amend your passport number upon check in.
What is the HKSAR passport photo requirement?
- The size of the photo must be 40mm (width) x 50mm (height), where the size from chin to crown of the person photographed should 32mm x 36mm. The background should be plain white.
