How PayMe works & How to use it?

PayMe is a 'Digital Wallet', designed to easily pay back your friends and family and also get paid to a Hong Kong local bank account through the apps for free. You need to top up your PayMe account with a credit card or bank account to pay and you need to have a local bank account to get paid. To be eligible to use PayMe, you need to be at least 18 years old and hold a valid HKID and Visa/MasterCard.

To sign up for PayMe, you need to:

  1. Download and install the apps from the Google Play Store/ App Store
  2. Register with a valid Facebook account/ mobile number
  3. Register with your personal details
  4. Read and agree to the T&C of the apps
  5. Create a password and verify your email address
  6. Add a top-up source (For non HSBC customers, HKID details are required)

PayMe Credit Card Top-up Limit

Please note that there is a top-up limit. The minimum amount that you can top up is HK$10 and the maximum amount that you can top up by credit card per month is HK$5,000. Although the amount that you have loaded to your PayMe account cannot be refunded, you can get the money back simply by transferring the topped up amount to your bank account.

PayMe for Asia Miles

Asia Miles is a rewards programme which allows members to earn miles to redeem for travel and lifestyle awards. With the eligible credit cards, you can earn Asia Miles for both local and foreign transactions. The Asia Miles can be loaded to your Asia Miles account automatically without the need of conversion or you need to convert the points to Asia Miles by yourself. It’s worth finding out if there’s any fee involved and the minimum limit for conversion.
